Training

Part of your Junior Achievement experience involves attending a two-hour program-specific training session prior to entering the classroom.  At this time you will receive the materials you will bring into the classroom with you.  These training sessions are important as they provide you with information regarding:

• Your role as volunteer

• Volunteer/teacher cooperation

• What to expect from and how to connect with the students

• Classroom management tips and techniques

• Lesson format

• How to facilitate the activities

• Materials you will bring with you to the classroom

In addition, these sessions provide you with an opportunity to interact with other JA volunteers and have your questions answered by a JA staff member.

Once you have been trained for a specific program, your training is relevant for two school years; however, we always welcome volunteers who wish to attend training prior to each in-class session as a refresher.
